Steve Porch – Bio

Steve’s musical career started when from high school in England.  He was accepted as a pianist/ trombone player in the prestigious Band of the Irish Guards in London.  He was promoted to the Guard’s Principle pianist - where he performed for State functions, cocktail parties, Investiture Ceremonies and State Banquets in Buckingham Palace and at Windsor Castle.  

After a nine-year tenure, he accepted a position as a pianist with Cunard Cruise lines, and later became Musical Director for Sitmar Cruises traveling the Caribbean, South America, Mexican Riviera and West Coast.  He worked directly with the Cruise Director on board and was responsible for all musicians on the ship and the live entertainment, rehearsing and directing the evening show schedule.

Once settled in America, Steve won the National Distinguished Performance Award with Yamaha, and was contracted under Yamaha, Hammond, Wurlitzer and Kawai and traveled nationally as a Concert Artist.  

He is an accredited adjudicator for the Illinois High School Association and often plays with the Dixie Dudes and Bill's Little Big Band.  He has been Director of Music for Lakes Area Community Band and their conductor for over 13 years.
