Steve Porch, Director
Steve Porch's musical career started during high school in England. He auditioned and was accepted as a pianist and trombone player in the prestigious Band of the Irish Guards in London. Promoted to Guard's Principle pianist he performed for State functions, cocktail parties, Investiture Ceremonies and State Banquest in Buckingham Palace and at Windsor Castle.
After a nine-year tenure with the Guards, Steve accepted a position as a pianist with Cunard Cruise lines, and later became Musical Director for Sitmar Cruises traveling the Caribbean, South America, the Mexican Rivera, and the West Coast. Working directly with the Cruise Director, Porch was responsible for all musicians on the ship and live entertainment, including directing the evening shows.
Once settled in America, Steve won the National Distinguished Performance Award with Yamaha, and was contracted under Yamaha, Hammond, Wurlitzer and Kawai. He travelled nationally as a Concert Performance Artist performing solo concerts and introducing new product.
Steve is an accredited adjudicator for the Illinois High School Association and often plays with the Dixie Dudes and Bill's Little Big Band. Porch has been Director of Music and Conductor of the Lakes Area Community Band for over 25 years.
